Lucca, the city of Saint Gemma Galgani

Saint Gemma was born on 12 March 1878 in the vicinity of Lucca. She grew up in poverty, suffering from painful and serious illnesses and as such, was very much misunderstood and rejected. She was in fact a woman with a big heart and at the age of 21 she received the gift of the stigmata. She died when she was just 25 years old.

Together we will discover the life of Saint Gemma and the places she often visited: the house where she received the stigmata, the most important churches in her life, the house where Gemma passed her last years, the bedroom where she died and the sanctuary where her body lies.
