Chianti Hike: Greve in Chianti
A beautiful walk in the heart of Tuscany; very famous for its wine labelled ‘The Gallo Nero’, the territory of Chianti is located between the 2 magnificent cities of Florence and Siena and can’t fail to be a stunning walk because of its surrounding picture postcard landscape; vineyards, olive groves and gently swaying wheat fields, little forests, isolated farms and medieval castles lacing the soft rolling hills that Tuscany is famous for. The present that merges with the past …
We’ll climb up and then down the Chianti hills whilst walking through woodlands, olive groves and vineyards, enjoying the beautiful views as we walk harmoniously with this land. At the highest point (415 m.) we’ll find the remains of an ancient church and stop for a sandwich break nearby. Our walk will continue until Greve in Chianti (236 m.); the small lively centre of The Gallo Nero (the Black Rooster)! Here we’ll have the possibility to taste this famous wine.
