Giacomo Puccini walking tour
2024 Giacomo Puccini 100th anniversary
Giacomo Puccini was born in Lucca in 1858 and died in Brussels 1924.
In 2024, on the 100th anniversary of his death, major Puccini celebrations will be organised all over the world and of course here in Lucca too.
What better way to discover his life, his work and the places he lived in Lucca than through a private tour? Book here 🙂
Lucca’s most famous man is, without doubt, Giacomo Puccini! In his 66 years of life he composed only a few operas but these works are so beautiful that they make him, still today, one of the most represented composers in the world! Who has never heard the arias “Che gelida manina” from La Bohème, “Un bel dì vedremo” from Madame Butterfly, “E lucevan le stelle” from Tosca or “Nessun dorma” from Turandot? I can’t represent all his operas but I can show you what the town was like when Puccini was a child, a youth and a twenty-year-old. His birthplace, today a museum, the churches where he played the organ as a boy, the musical institute he attended for several years, the café where he met his friends and then the streets, the squares and places he frequented and lived!
Duration: 3 hours (private walking tour)
Fee: €170.- per group/family for up to 12 people
