Guided Tour of Lucca
The solid Renaissance walls completely surrounding the historic centre still today are the symbol of Lucca. Without them, Lucca wouldn’t be how it was in the past and how it is today. Our visit will begin right here!
Our walk will continue along the old and narrow streets leading to the large squares, Napoleone and San Michele in Foro. We will admire the monumental church of San Michele, the San Frediano Basilica and, of course, also the simple Duomo of San Martino. Walking down the medieval alleys, we will take in the characteristic Roman amphitheatre, the unusual tower topped by trees which was built by the Guinigi family and the house where the most famous man of Lucca was born; Giacomo Puccini.
