Guided Tour of Florence
Especially for those fond of art history, Florence is a real paradise! The monumental churches, the noble buildings, the celebrated sculptures and famous paintings are witness to the glorious past of Florence in the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods. We are really lucky to have the chance to marvel at these wonderful works of art still today, hundreds of years after their creation!
Together, we will visit the religious heart of the city where we can find the ancient baptistery in the Romanesque style and the massive Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore with its outstanding dome, the symbol of Florence. Walking down the medieval streets we will see the district where Dante Alighieri was born and he lived, we will explore the political centre of Florence, Piazza della Signoria with the imposing Palazzo Vecchio and the copy of Michelangelo’s David, another symbol of the city! Our visit will also lead us to the Arno River and the characteristic Ponte Vecchio, to Piazza della Repubblica, once the forum of Roman Florence, and to the Franciscan church of Santa Croce.
