Hike in Vinci
In the Montalbano mountain range, amidst olive groves, Leonardo da Vinci grew up in the 15th century. The hike begins near the small town of Vinci and leads upwards through the hilly Tuscan landscape that marked Leonardo’s childhood to an old holm oak that stands next to an even older church. Here, at the highest point of the hike, we have a wonderful view of the wide valley and the former marshy area. After our picnic break, we go downhill to Anchiano to the birthplace of the great artist and on to Vinci.
